Emily Nussbaum on Tatiana Maslany’s performance in the sci-fi thriller “Orphan Black” (subscription required): http://nyr.kr/1i7OUnH

“If it weren’t for Tatiana Maslany, the show’s star, ‘Orphan Black’ would be just a likable-enough thriller, with Toronto local color—enough to recommend it to a Canadaphilic sci-fi buff like me, but maybe not to you.Maslany explodes that calculation entirely. The actress delivers a performance so magnetic that it transforms the show into something with staying power, a near must-watch.”

Yesss. I am in love Tatiana and her crazy amazing acting chops. Also, she’s Canadian, which makes me love her more. She is a star.

Try not to compromise. So many people don’t do what they really want in their hearts because they feel like they’re not good enough, or they’re not smart enough, or they’re not talented enough… anything. And that doesn’t matter. In order for you to live a remarkable life — in order for you to live a life that is fulfilling — you need to be able to go after what you want. And if you don’t, you’re not going to achieve it — ever.
On Humble Pied, Debbie Millman shares three pieces of wisdom to guide the way to a remarkable life. Dive deeper with her timelessly wonderful illustrated-essay-turned-commencement-address on courage and the creative life. (via explore-blog)

"Let’s Go On" from Rhapsody on Uke! (by Felicia Day)

Friday video is here! I decided to use that ukelele I talked about a few weeks ago and try it out! I play a song from that weird video game we played on Co-Optitude this week, “Rhapsody”.

Really enjoyed learning the chords, maybe I’ll do it again sometime :)

she is adorable

theimprovshop:

I often get asked if I have any tips on how to work on improvising when not in class or rehearsal. Here’s what I do:

1. Watch a lot of Netflix. Video helps me imagine the environment when I’m in a scene. I tie the scene back to something I’ve watched in the past. Suddenly, I don’t have to invent…

Great advice :) Practice life is true for acting at well. You can’t just bury yourself in your art.
